@The 7 Deadly Sins

“Oh if I have any trouble, you’ll be the first person I call. You’re the only one I can always trust to have my back after all.” Thinking on it, she probably intimidated them more than he did. It would be an interesting experience if they ever got put in a good-cop bad-cop scenario. It would probably devolve to bad-cop worse-cop. “I’d probably like to go somewhere where there’s not a city. Other than that, I am up for anything.” His lips met hers and he felt the remaining stress start to melt away. The effects she had on him… “Well I’d be happy to do that all day.”

“For once it really does.” Christina’s comment was so cute, Jacob was tempted to either laugh or kiss her again. So he did a mix of both, chuckling as his lips found hers again. “When we get there,” he agreed when they finally moved apart. For a few moments he just stood there looking at her, enjoying the feeling of her hands against his face.

“Mhmm” Christina hummed with a smile as he kissed her again. “Feels nice to know that you’re all mine” She laughed and looked towards the door “Those fawning interns better watch where their eyes stray” she winked and rubbed his cheek with her thumb. His eyes held the same endearing look that hers did, a scene that before she had met Jacob would have made her roll her eyes and walk away. It was funny how much she had changed and opened up to love and learning to care about some one other than herself. For so long it had only been her but now that she had Jacob, she didn’t want to be alone.  ”Oh, I need to tell you something” Christina sighed, she had been avoiding the conversation but she knew she had to tell him at some point. Although she couldn’t tell him the truth which pained her the most. She let her hands fall from his cheeks and rest on his chest instead “Nexus is sending me to Italy to collect more information of the Rogue’s establishment. I’m not really allowed to be telling you this but I couldn’t just disappear not without telling you” Christina bit her bottom lip “I’ll only be gone a week or so” she added in before closing her eyes, she hadn’t realized how much it pained her to lie to him until the deceptive words had actually left her mouth. She opened her eyes and looked up at him “Sorry I just didn’t realize how much I was going to miss you”

Gonna Cut You Down || Riley and Christina

Riley stood up brushing her hands on her pants, feeling weird at touching a dead body. It wasn’t her first time, but it still made her uneasy. She allowed Christina to go to the post-human, but when she pulled out a syringe, Riley’s eyebrows furrowed. Why did she have that? Riley brushed it off on the thought that it was because Christina had more security clearance. However, she seemed to frighten the young man away as he moved himself away from the ground still sitting. He was scared and coming at him with a needle wasn’t going to make him any better. She stepped up next to Christina, putting a hand on her shoulder. “Why don’t you tell us what happened, darlin’?” Riley spoke softly, squatting close to him, but still keeping her distance as he asked. “Hm?” She asked, tilting her head and trying to meet his eye level. “The filthy post-human killed that man!” Someone in the crowd yelled out and the young boy, further attempted to close himself in. Riley sighed and looked up at Christina. “Can ya try t’ get the crowd t’ break up?” She asked and turned back to the young man. “We just wanna help you. You don’t wanna hurt anyone else, right, darlin’? We can help you do that.”

Christina refrained from laughing, Riley was much gentler and patient than she was. She stood and tucked the syringe away letting Riley step in front of her. “Be careful, he’s unstable” She said quietly before taking a step backwards and looking towards the crowd. The man who had yelled out was clearly angry, his face red with frustration. The heel of her hand rested lightly on the butt of her gun as she approached “Sir you need to leave” She said rather calmly although his temper seemed to flair with her words. His hands raised in the air as he yelled some more “That filthy son of a bitch killed a man! Why are you talking to me lady go control that freak!” Christina rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest. “Sir leave now before I put you in cuffs and make you” she was loosing her patience and this man was only adding fuel to the fire that was stirring and spreading in the surrounding crowd. She pulled out her gun and held it by her thigh, the expression on his face was one of fear and fury but he seemed to give in as he turned and stormed off. However, more people had gathered and their expressions matched the man that she had just sent away. She looked over at the man who laid dead “Riley what’s the ETA on the coroners. We need to get this guy out of here”

@Andrew::

Andrew looked at the money in the case and signed. “Alright, you’ll probably think I’m even stranger after this, but let’s level a little on this whole payment issue.” Andrew gestured at the home they were in. “I have money. More than I can spend unless I really put my mind to it. I didn’t take this job for the cash, I did it because it sounded fun. So don’t worry about how much you’re paying me. As long as it looks like it’ll cover the materials, I’m fine with it. Honestly, I will probably not check anyway.” Andrew picked up a headset and put it on. “Alright, now that that’s done, back to the fun stuff.”

“To answer your question about target practice, this way please.” Andrew closed the cases and carried her crossbow and the arrows to an open spot on the floor. He then motioned for his client to stand beside him. “You might want to brace yourself.” Andrew waved his hand and the area of the floor they were on suddenly began to descend. It ended it’s trip in a large well-lit room. “And now we need targets right?” He waved his hand again and a holographic display appeared in front of him. A few hand motions later, and some dummy targets began to rise from the floor. “Have fun.”

“I don’t think you’re strange Mr. Scott, not in the least. You are simply passionate about your work, something most can’t say” Christina smiled “I wouldn’t say I’m your typical woman either, don’t be so quick to judge yourself” She smiled and raised her eye brow at the idea of the ‘fun stuff’ “lead the way” she said extending her arm. As he led her onto an open spot on the floor she laughed as the floor began to descend “Very impressive” She said looking around her as they arrived in a completely different area. “I guess so” She said with a smile. His house was unlike anything she had seen that was for sure. Her eyebrows raised as the dummies rose out of the floor. “Don’t mind if I do” Christina leaned over and undid the case to her new crossbow and gently lifted the piece into her hands. She smirked and carefully chose on of the exploding arrows as she was curious to how big the explosion really was. Manually loading the arrow into the bow, Christina stepped forward and raised the bow. She pulled the trigger and sent the arrow flying into the dummy. However, to her disappointment it didn’t explode. “Well then” She said tilting her head slightly to the side before turning to Andrew “What did I do wrong?” She asked genuinely curious but before he could answer the explosion went off behind her. “Oh!” She said a bit surprised “Just kidding”

@The 7 Deadly Sins

Her compliments made him feel much better, and his smile showed that. It was always uplifting when someone had your back and believed in you, especially when you weren’t so sure. “Team of misfits is right… I don’t know what I’m gonna do with half these guys.” The idea of a private vacation was certainly an appealing idea. And after all this crap, they would have definitely earned one. “Celebrating sounds like a wonderful idea.”

“Fiancé… feels good to hear that. Feels good to say it too.” It had not been a term Jacob had ever imagined he’d ever have referring to himself before meeting Christina. Now all he could wonder was why it had taken all this time for it to happen. He looked at the ring she was wearing, and couldn’t help but smile even more. “Y’know I was just thinking… I know we won’t have time to actually have any kind of ceremony until this assignment is over, but who did we want to invite?”

His smile made her smile instantly back, he could always pull a genuine smile out of her. Something she was grateful for in ways she couldn’t put into words. “You’ll keep em in line, I don’t have any doubts about that and you have me.” She laughed softly “I know it might seem less manly to ask your girlfriend for help but I’m serious Jacob if you need it, you better ask” She wrinkled her nose a bit and smiled “Well tell me where you want to go bossman and I’ll book the flights” She smiled and leaned in closer “You can do this” Christina said kissing him softly.  She pulled away with a smile “Everything feels good and right” Christina laughed and placed her hands gently on the sides of his face “I would marry you on a post it note Jacob Miller, don’t worry about a ceremony just yet. We’ll figure it out when it comes time okay?” She looked up at him softly, she had never imagined herself in a wedding dress or even wearing an engagement ring before that moment and suddenly the possibilities were endless. Girlish fantasies that all revolved around the man that stood in front of her and Christina knew she could never love anyone else.

Pain has many faces

Gonna Cut You Down || Riley and Open

Riley quickly turned at the familiar voice and grinned, always happy to see Christina. “Well hey there, darlin’. Not sure really. They just said it was a disturbance concerning post-humans and I guess they contacted the nearest agents?” She shrugged slightly and continued walking. “You ready t’ work together again?” She called back to Christina with a smile. As they moved closer she saw someone lying on the ground and he definitely didn’t look alive. Riley rushed forward and knelt down as she placed her two fingers against the other man’s neck. “He’s dead,” Riley muttered and looked up to the people around them. They pointed to another man, or rather young man, who was hugging his knees and rocking back and forth. She looked back up at Christina, not sure how to go through this.

“That’s all they told me…” Christina rolled her eyes, Nexus was very uninformative at times to a point of annoyance. She smiled at Riley “Of course I am, I think my burns have healed since last time” She said winking at her friend. As they approached the center of the crowd Christina huffed as she saw the body lying on the ground. She guessed he was dead before Riley even went and checked. Handling these sorts of situations was easy to her, the only danger proved to be the unknown of the young man’s ability. She nodded at Riley before approaching slowly “Sir, I need you to put your hands up” She said calmly before removing a syringe from her pocket. The shot contained the ability tranquilizer used for giving tattoos. She had “borrowed” some from the labs one afternoon for situations like these. She stopped as the man unravelled from his fetal position “Don’t do anything stupid”

He looked up at her and then to the gun in the belt of her jeans “St-tay away” he said pushing himself away from her “I-I don’t want to hurt you”
